Ashkit is the older brother of Emberkit. He is the one that is slightly more mature, despite his age. He feels he has to protect his air-headed sister. They get into trouble a lot but Ashkit takes the blame for it. He is a smart kit and very graceful in his walking or pouncing. He loves daytime and warmth, and is scared of the dark.

Ashkit and Emberkit were left outside the camp after they were born. The warriors and elders tell them that they thought it was a trap to get the Clan to come out, so they left them for a few hours until sundown when the leader, Breezestar, came out to get them.

She has a tendency to trip over air. Unlike her brother, she loves nighttime and the cold. Because Ashkit is afraid of the dark, Emberkit acts almost like an older sister to him and cuddles up next to him at night.
