BUT I DON'T WEAR MY PAPER HEART ON MY SLEEVE He kept his bodice level as his pupils flickered back in forth in a wary position. His tail twitched ever so slightly, but he tried to remain calm before excitement overtook him and adreneline would begin. His chase for white rabbits this morning was desperate. He desired to take down as many as possible and feast with the others who shared his favoritism for the plump hare. And what was best, all the while Volepaw gained even more recognition and praise. That was what he was truly aiming for: to impress his hardy father. Volepaw had no clue why his father was such, but Volepaw was determined to show Rustfang how much he was worth.
"I'll show him this time," he muttered, flexing his claws into the dirt as he waited for the right moment to dart out. No rabbit was in sight, but he was sure one would appear soon enough. And when it did, he would unleash his fury and wrath upon it, dealing a death blow to its windpipe where the precious air was delivered to the lungs where life was bred.
Volepaw suddenly noticed a white flash before his eyes. He tensed and immediately took position near the ground, sliding his haunches back and forth and preparing for the pounce. The rabbit was now nibbling on a strand of weed. This is my chance, he thought, eyes wide. Then he bustled his muscles and strength and throw himself into the air. Unfortunately, a few leaves scattered and a once peaceful squirell let out some sort of an alarm; the kind they did when they knew a predator was near. The rabbit was now warned; it darted away. No! he shouted in his mind, gritting his teeth and taking off towards the quick white prey. It flitted here and there like a butterfly as it went from flower to flower, but it was not nearly as graceful. A great racous was caused; Volepaw cursed under his breath as the rabbit led him deeper into the pine. His mind totally went blank as he focused on his kill...
A sting struck Volepaw's paw; he screeched and stumbled in pain, yowling and shuddering as a large pine needle was lodged in his paw. After recovering enough to rise, he limped back towards camp. His prey and praise was lost, only to be potentially replaced by embarrassment and a scolding from his father.

Wingshadow xx: The white fluffy she-cat had been hiding in the brush with her eyes on the gigantic rabbit in front of her. Nearby she scented another Voidclan cat, but she didn't no where it was coming from at the moment. Suddenly a Voidclan apprentice dashed out from behind and went toward the rabbit going for the kill. She saw that as the apprentice ran an accident was about to happen. There was a large pine needle in front of him as he ran toward the rabbit. For she got a feeling and knew that he did not see it, yet she did not call out to him. It was a selfish yet dumb and horrible thing to do. All clan cats were supposed to help each other.
She continued to watch as the apprentice let out a screech and stumble. It was fascinating and yet horrifying to watch. It reminded her of how her eldest brother died in way, in which he died from a sharp thorn that gouged him in his heart. Finally, after watching she crept out from the bushes as the apprentice limped back towards Voidclan camp. "Volepaw," Wingshadow cried out. "What happened? You look hurt." Wingshadow did not want Volepaw to know that she was there and watching the whole entire time.
"We need to get you to the medicine cat, because obviously you are in immense pain." Wingshadow called out and she ran to catch up to the staggering apprentice. She ran and finally caught up to him catching her breath.

BUT I DON'T WEAR MY PAPER HEART ON MY SLEEVE As he saw the familiar white she-cat run towards him, he sighed and flicked his tail. Wingshadow. He grunted as she stared at him with wide eyes and spoke. "Volepaw, what happened? You look hurt." He only winced as pain took its toll once more with another agonizing step towards the entrance to camp. Wingshadow began to run towards him; Volepaw was a bit annoyed at this. I can do this on my own! he thought to himself, but he tried to swallow his pride down and let her words pour out on him. "We need to get you to the medicine cat, because obviously you are in immense pain." Volepaw shrugged and shouldered his way out of her path, attempting another hurtful step to camp. "Yeah, yeah..." he growled. "I'll be fine. But if you really want me to, I will."
Volepaw then pushed himself on and stumbled, secretly hoping that Wingshadow would give him a paw, but he didn't expect it. Cats these days, as he was told by his father, were unpitying and unwilling to help. Volepaw's father claimed that cats used to always help one another, but Volepaw doubted it. He sincerely doubted it.

Wingshadow xx: Being the bossy and annoying cat -she was Wingshadow continued to follow Volepaw. Yeah, yeah..." he growled. "I'll be fine. But if you really want me to, I will..." Yeah right," she thought. I bet he's faking it and is really in immense pain. She got a vibe that he was just trying to play it cool and now show how hurt he actually was. One of her brothers never liked to show how hurt he was ever. In fact, she ran in front of him and blocked him from walking. "I think it's really important that you go and see the medicine cat," she said sternly trying to act like an older sister. "In fact you should go and see the medicine cat. I won't allow you to go on like this." She gave a sigh. "Please just let me help you Volepaw."A cool breeze blew past Wingshadow and the apprentice. It felt good. I hope Volepaw will listen to me, she thought worriedly. She got nervous around cats that didn't do what was good for them, especially this youngster that seemed to be so full of himself.
