xxxxTorchscarxxxx Torchscar padded into the clearing, leaving the warrior's den. The huge dark gray tom was very unhappy, because his stomach was grumbling at a bad time, because he so happily happened to be in the middle of a nap. He was starving. In fact, he had not eaten since yesterday morning, because he was so busy sleeping off his life. Today he hated clan life. Everyday, everything revolved around the clan, which was getting up and hunting for the clan and helping the elders and the kits. Everything just seemed so boring to him these past few months. He wanted something to happen.
The tom looked over at the fresh pile of kill in the center of the camp. It was smaller than usual on a day like today, although the best season of the year was coming. He licked the outsides of his mouth thinking of delicious mice and voles to eat. Green leaf was emerging for all clans and the prey would thrive amazingly.
Without another moment to spare, the hungry warrior padded over to the fresh pile of kill choosing a large vole to eat and sat down. He sniffed the vole just to make sure that it was not old and gross. it smelled good and juicy. He began to eat by biting down into the large vole with the juices flowing into his mouth onto his taste buds. He swallowed the piece of prey in a couple ravenous chews. He then stood up licking a paw and the areas around his mouth. Perhaps someone would be so kind to join him this early in the morning?

Redpaw Pounced out of the apprentice den they were so crowded now a days. He remembered the time when it was just him and his brother in the den. Some fun time they were, with all the story telling move copying, was a blast til.. Redpaw's body stiffened and stopped where is stood, it had been walking toward the freshkill pile but now it was completely stopped.
Why? He thought for a quick moment. Why did this happen? Shaking himself mentally after realizing he was not alone in the clearing. Redpaw looked at the warrior curiously. Normally redpaw was the only one up at this time of day. it was when he thought about things and day dreamed before the big day. Guess its not going to happen today. It was going to be hard to think with a big lump of warrior awake, and alert to your moves since you are the only one up with him.
"Why.. Hello?" He said a bit awkwardly, unstiffening his muscles with a huge stretch, then sitting down on his rump to taken a paw from the ground and run it over his red striped ear. "You're up early." He added shaking his pelt to get the loose moss from it. Sniffing slightly he noticed the scent of fresh prey on the warrior and wondered.. well just wondered about this cats sanity. Why would a warrior get up this early just to eat?

xxxTorchscarxxx The gray warrior had not even heard the young apprentice approach him. He heard a few words of You're up early... which was the only thing that Torchscar heard the apprentice say to him. Finding that he was still turned to the fresh pile of kill, he turned around to face Redpaw half annoyed. Was it a problem that he got up early? Torchscar thought to himself defensively. Torchscar had gotten very defensive of himself lately, which he could not help. Many cats in the clan had been saying annoying comments to him like this.
Why hello," Torchscar mewed. " Seems you are up early too." He sat down calmer and wrapped his tail around his paws letting the cool breeze blow around him. He was definitely not an early morning cat, but since he was so hungry that had made him rise out of his nest earlier than usual. Given the fact that he was right next to the fresh pile of kill he grabbed a big finch and tossed it to Redpaw. "Here," he said. "Eat up." He did not want to keep the apprentice deprived of food, because he was there, so he decided that the apprentice should eat, while he grabbed another piece of prey.
Without another second to loose, Torchscar grabbed a smaller mouse, since he had already eaten a vole. He gulped it whole and spat out the bones. "Mmmmm," the older warrior said. " I just love the taste of a good juicy mouse in the morning. "

Grinning slightly to himself, redpaw gingerly sniffed the finch and pushed it back into the freshkill pile. "Sorry im not really hungry right now. I normally just get up to stretch my limbs and wait for my mentor to wake up to do some training. Or check up on anything that might look wrong to me in the camp. Which you are, since you're never up this early, Torshscar." He added the name to his sentense just to make it look a bit more scarier to the tom as he wanted it to be. Sadly redpaw knew the warrior would not be scared of him so he tried a new tactic. "The freshkill pile is kinda low today. Are you going out to hunt?" He meowed gentley as a nudge that the warrior needed to do so.
Redpaw was way over his head about now. he realised he had made the warrior bristle before and was adding upon it just because he wanted to see the warrior burst out into a rage. It would be funny for him to wake and it might wake up the surround camp! With an evil glint in his eye he continued briefly saying, "Or if you don't want to you can just go and kill some vortex cats, the leader would be very proud of you for it." His last words were clipped and his fur started to bristle lightly, bringing back the annoying anger of this stupid war.Why was it that they were in this anyway? Slowly redpaw turned his head toward the ground and began to think about his brother again. How he had been murdered.

The dark gray tom stared at the apprentice after he had rejected his offer on food. He could tell that Redpaw was trying to make him angry, but it wasn't bothering him one bit. He disliked Redpaw a little and could careless what he thought of him. "Or check up on anything that might look wrong to me in the camp. Which you are, since you're never up this early, Torshscar.." The words rang in his head. He was getting annoyed especially by this annoying brat, but he stayed calm not letting the youngster get to him. "Whatever," Torchscar said. "Suit yourself on not eating now."
But that annoying little pesky cat had not given up. ""The freshkill pile is kinda low today. Are you going out to hunt?" " In fact Torchscar had not thought of even hunting yet. He had just gotten up to eat some very good fresh kill and then go back to sleep. Usually, he went hunting with a friend, and his friend wasn't up yet.
As the apprentice continued to try to make Torchscar get mad, he could tell that he looked trouble. After all his brother had been murdered. "Look," Torchscar said. "No need to try to make yourself look tough after what you have been through." The tom flicked his tail and stared at the apprentice waiting for a response.
OOC: Umm... I hadn't made Torchscar bristle before...

Ooc:Sorry I'm use to writing stories. I'll try not to god-play xD And um. Do you think Torchscar could mentor Redpaw? Breezestar said to find one so i am.
With a hiss of surprise Redpaw jumped back and looked at the warrior in awe. How had he known what he'd been thinking? A large stone suddenly lodged itself in his throat. He couldn't speak the overwhelming emotion to just snuggle up to the warrior and wail like a kit seem to be hitting him harder then ever before. But redpaw just stood there staring at him. His eyes swirling with many emotions all at once. Grief, Pain, Love, Admiration, Loneliness all were there and becoming harder and harder to control.
Suddenly his body stiffened and he bowed his little red striped head. Redpaw closed his eyes to let the tears roll down his cheeks, not that the warrior could see them but they did. He wanted to tear out the warriors throat too. His anger rushed to his aid to relieve him of his pain. His eyes glared at the warrior, his eyes wet and still watery but not flaring with sudden hatred. "Then why are we in this stupid war!" He yowled at him, this time it was his intention to wake the entire camp, but nothing stirred. His legs felts like silly puddy and they wobbled out from under him, as he just collapsed right there into a sobbing mess of red stripes.

The gray warrior watched as the apprentice looked utterly surprised at first at Torchscar's comments. He could tell that Redpaw was wondering how Torchscar knew how he knew that he was trying to act tough. Suddenly right in front of him the apprentice yelled out, Then why are we in this stupid war!"
In Torchscar's opinion, Redpaw was a small and immature youngster that should not be taken half seriously. He seemed trouble to his eyes. The gray warrior continued to watch as the apprentice began to cry and stumble down to the ground. No wonder he was called Redpaw. He indeed looked like a red cat when he curled down on the ground.
Trying to calm the cat down, Torchscar strode over to the apprentice. "Easy there," he mewed softly. He wanted to be comforting, but he knew if he said "everything was alright," the apprentice would think he was lying. So he did not say those words. Without another though, Torchscar started to purr and purr trying to be comforting. He could not think of anything to say, without having the stress of Redpaw saying immature things back to him if he did say anything. [/size]

Redpaw let himself drift away, the sound of the purring rested softly in his mind. The tom was trying to comfort him, he knew it, but the words were blurred as his mind raced back to the day when his brothers body was brought back to camp. The white mangled pelt with blood stains on his ribs and his tail broken..
When he came back too he blinked away the tears that had mostly stopped and looked up at the large gray warrior. "I'm sorry" he murmured very quietly, his orange eyes hidden in sadness. Shaking he stood up and with his ears low began to walk over to the large finch he had thrown at him earlier. His tail was dragging along the ground, the red now mixing in with brown at the dirt dusted his tail. Redpaw's belly plopped down in front of the finch. He took a couple little bites and found he was starving. Gulping up the rest of the kill, he tenderly cleaned his face.

The tom continued to purr as he watched the young apprentice getting his act together. Good, Torchscar thought. He's finally coming around. He gave a little chuckle as the apprentice apologized saying, "I'm sorry.""A good cry is always good once and awhile," Torchscar murmured. "It's alright. I'm cool with it all. "
The tom decided to stay there for awhile to make sure the apprentice was totally ok. He watched as Redpaw walked over and ate the finch that he had thrown at him earlier. I thought he was hungry, thought Torchscar. The tom deciding to keep the apprentice company and walked over to fresh pile of kill. He grabbed a large thrush and took huge juicy bites. It tasted delicious. He sank his large teeth into the feathers. It was amazing. One of the best things he had tasted in awhile.

Purring with contentment, redpaw looked at the warrior tom, he was so different then he would have expected. He watch the warrior eat for a while then meowed softly, "Will you be my mentor?" Even though he barely knew the cat, redpaw wanted him as his mentor. He knew he didn't have one yet and was looking for a good one. This tom was brilliant and edged his way into his heart with probably little effort. Redpaw admitted to himself that he was not the best cat suited for fighting but maybe this cat would show him wrong.
Swishing his tail around his paws, redpaw purred and kinda smiled for a moment. "It does feel better to cry sometimes but.. it doesn't make it go away." He meowed looking down to his paws, he slide out his claws slightly and dug them into the earth below them. the scratching sound felt like it was echoing in his ears while he waited for the warrior to answer. It was a big question and it had its bad parts, but was he the reason? Did this warrior not want HIM as an apprentice, because of his weakness? No.. That wouldn't be the reason, he just knew it wasn't.

The gray warrior finished gulping down his last few bites of the finch that he was eating. It that tasted good. The taste lasted quite well in his mouth. All of a sudden Redpaw spoke to him, which caught him a bit off guard. "Will you be my mentor? Torchscar heard the apprentice say.
Those words caught the warrior by surprise. He did not how to reply. He felt honored, but he didn't think he was really up to having an apprentice. He was a lazy warrior indeed. Perhaps having an apprentice might make me less lazier? he thought to himself. Torchscar was also not the best at hunting. He lacked the speed and interest in hunting. His battle skills were way better than his hunting skills though. Battling was definitely something he could teach Redpaw. He was also pretty good at sensing other cats nearby. The tom also disliked a tiny bit of Redpaw's weakness. Crying in the middle of a camp was kind of wimpy. It was something Torchscar would have never ever done. He glanced up at the trees trying to come up with the right decision.[ i] Oh Starclan, help me! [/i] Finally Torchscar came up the decision of whether to have an apprentice whether or not he would like it. He knew for a fact that he had to be a better cat in the clan, so he cleared his voice and said, "Yes." He paused for a moment waitig for a reaction from the apprentice. "I will mentor you."[/blockquote][/blockquote]
